Catalytic Converters and the Catalyst contained are one of the main feed stocks for our plasma furnace. Multimetco Inc. purchases hundreds of thousands of these whole catalytic converters yearly. We purchase units from automobile shredders and crushers, core buyers, automobile dismantlers and muffler repair shops through our Purchasing Facilities. 

There are 2 basic types of catalytic converters , Pellet type or Monolith (Honeycomb) type, with several different models in each. 

Pellet Converters 

Pellet converters, as the name suggest, contain a pellet or beaded type of catalyst material.

Monolith Converters 

Monolith converters , or sometimes called Honeycomb converters. Contain a catalyst which resembles a honeycomb like structure inside of the converter body.
